Condition

This work is in generally good condition with an acid mat. There are a few small areas of staining throughout, namely along the lower right edge. Not examined out of the frame.

Pavel Tchelitchew designed the scenery and costumes for Orpheus, an opera-ballet in two acts with music by Christoph Willibald van Gluck and choreography by George Balanchine. It was presented by the American Ballet Company at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York on May 22, 1936.
