Catalogue Note

In the late 1920s Jean-Leon Reutter dreamt of inventing a perpetual motion timepiece which consumed the smallest amount of power possible to keep the clock running. His device used a metal cylinder, known as the bellows, which contained a glass tube similar to a thermometer that reacted to the changes in temperature and atmospheric conditions. The result was an ingenious clock like no other that could run independently and continuously.
