Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin, Extract from the Archives confirming sale on February 22nd 2000, COSC certificate, spare platinum case back, booklet, leather folder and presentation case.

The resonance and exquisite tone of the minute repeating on a platinum case such as the present one is unparalleled.

For technical reasons, Patek Philippe chose to conceal the tourbillon, rather than revealing it through an aperture on the dial. The main reason being that if exposed to ultraviolet light or daylight, the long-term accuracy of this delicate device would be compromised.

Patek Philippe recently annouced that all production of this reference will be end by the end of this year. A unique example made in a steel case with black dial was made for the charity auction 'Only Watch'  which took place in Monaco in September 2011.
