Catalogue Note

A watch with similar decoration by J. Nodiot was commissioned by Carvalho Monterio and made by L. Leroy & Cie for the Paris Exposition Universelle 1878. There are possibly only three watches, including the present, known to exist with similarly decorated cases, the third also by L. Leroy & Cie, the case by V. Burdin from a design by L. Manini.
