- A YELLOW GOLD AND ENAMEL CENTRE SECONDS WATCH MADE FOR THE CHINESE MARKETCIRCA 1785
- yellow gold, enamel
- diameter 53 mm
• double train virgule escapement with engraved foliate design, pierced and engraved balance, independent seconds • gilt cuvette • white enamel dial, Roman numerals • case back with polychrome enamel scene of a urn surmounted with flower with costal scene in the background, translucent blue enamel on engine-turned ground to the edge, blue enamel bezel
Condition
The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it may benefit from a service soon. The dial is in good condition, the minute hand has signs of repair and it is broken to the one side. The enamel to the case back is in good condition, the enamel to the bezel shows signs of restoration with areas of decoration lacking and a layer of lacquer which is crazing.
