Catalogue Note
Accompanied by a Breguet blank guarantee, presentation case, instructions.
Breguet was founded by Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1775. He developed many of the highly important horological complications, including the automatic watch and the tourbillon which he patented in 1801. Breguet also invented the gong spring for repeating watches. Chiming on demand by means of a slide in the case side, the watch will tell the time by first chiming the hours, then the quarters and finally the minutes. The present example carries an engine turned dial with different types of engraving in the classical style of the guilloché dials used by Abraham Louis Breguet himself over two centuries ago.
