Condition

Movement is running while cataloguing, all functions appear fully operational, however it will require an overhaul in the near future to fully operational. The movement was most probably adapted to a later case and dial of lower quality from the period. One can see on the edge of the back plate traces of a numbering that was most probably 90. Enamel dial in good condition with two apertures for the winding of both the movement and the striking mechanism. The striking mechanism is set on the edge of the dial with a push pin which is rare device. The gilt case shows some signs of strong wear on the back and also to the edge, it would need to be gilded to be well preserved. Previously was sold by Sotheby's, 29 May 1961, lot 160. Overall this is an interesting piece from the period. The movement is running, it is both a clock and repeating watch.
