Condition
The movement is running and the chronograph is functioning at the time of cataloguing, however it may benefit from a service soon. There are some very slight spots to the dial to the left of the Rolex signature but this is barely visible, overall the dial is in very good condition. There are scuffs throughout the case from wear, there are also a couple of scuffs to the bezel. Overall this is a beautiful example of this reference.

The serial number between the lugs is 2357480.

Catalogue Note
Reference 6264 can be considered the rarest of the "Cosmograph" references, having only been produced for very few years from the late 1960's until 1972. It was available in 18K and 14K gold as well as stainless steel and was the last non-Oyster chronograph produced by Rolex. The reference appears in the Rolex workshop manual. The present lot bears two reference numbers, 6264 in between the lugs, which refers to the specific characteristics of this watch, and 6241 in the case back, which is common for a transitional reference.
The present example was formely illustrated and described in The Mondani Collection of Rolex Wristwatches, sold by Antiquorum in 2006.
