Condition

The watch is numbered between the lugs 6265. The serial number is 5523133. The movement is running and the chronograph is operating, however the hands move slowly when the reset button is pressed and will require servicing. There is rust to the hands and some of the luminescent dots have disintegrated. There are scuffs throughout the case, the bracelet and on the glass. Catalogue Note

The Rolex Daytona considered as the iconic chronograph on the international watch market was released in the 1970's with the reference 6263 and 6265 produced until the mid 1980's.

Reference 6263 was generally fitted with a black anti-reflective bezel whereas 6265 was fitted with a stainless steel engraved bezel as in the present example. As well as the bezels, particularly in the different style of printing the Daytona.
