• 11-inch painted white dial, Roman numerals, bordered by hand-painted polychrome scene depicting two female classical figures playing instruments, further bordered by scroll and wreath decoration, all to a painted black background, the upper portion of the dial is open to reveal a vignette with automaton scene • when activated eleven hand-painted figures move, play instruments and dance to the accompanying music • anchor recoil escapement, striking on one bell, musical pipe barrel, 64 wooden pipes, large rectangular bellows, painted black organ reeds • cherry wood case with ebonized molded scroll top cornice • ebonized accents to each door, panel and base

Condition

The weights are not attached and clock is not properly set up at this time. The movement will need to be serviced as it has need been done in a very long time. There is some repair to the bellows at the base of the reeds. The dial has been repaired/repainted to 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. There are scratches to the dial. The hour hand is loose and has been repaired, solder is visible. The painted figures that border the dial are in decent shape with some small cracks and tiny bubbles. There is some loss of finish and spotting to the two painted figures. There are some splits and cracks to the large opening of the dial that reveals the automaton scene. The automaton figures are aged with some loss of paint and detail, but generally well preserved. The case has some chips throughout, particularly to the ebonized sections. There is a heavy chip to the front lower right edge of the bonnet with repair beneath it. Small chips to the base of the clock. The escutcheon on the primary door is very loose. 21 keys, 63 pipes
