- A LOT OF TWO YELLOW GOLD AND ENAMEL HUNTING CASED WATCHESCIRCA 1880 AND 1860
- the first: 41 mm, the second: 34 mm
• both: gold cuvette, white enamel dial, Roman numerals • the first: nickel lever movement, scallop-form case with translucent blue enamel over engine-turning to both sides, the front enhanced with rose-cut diamonds, the back with floral motif, dial and movement signed, case signed GW & Co. • the second: cylinder movement, the case with polychrome enamel to both sides, the front with a Swiss mountain scene, the back with a burst of spring flowers, both framed in opaque blue enamel, cuvette signed and numbered, case numbered
Condition
The first: The movement will running at the time of cataloguing, however it may require service soon. The crystal is cracked, however the dial is largely undamaged, save a small hairline only visible under magnification between the subsidiary seconds and 4 and 5 o'clock. The inside of both the front and back case is marked GW&Co and 5092. There is a dent visible on the interior of the front case but no visible damage on the outside. The case is in good order overall, with surface scuffs to the blue enamel. The back shows a chip and possibly restoration to a small portion of the blue enamel.
The second: There is movement to the balance when wound, however it would benefit from service. No visible hairline to the dial. The case is numbered 23180. Surface scuffs to the enamel but no visible losses or chips.
