Description

  • A LOT OF TWO SMALL DESK TIMEPIECESCIRCA 1910 AND 1950
  • the first: height 5 cm, width 3.5 cm, depth 2.5 cm; the second: 7.5 cm by 7.5 cm
• both: eight-day nickel lever movement, silvered dial, Arabic numerals • the first: case with translucent blue enamel over guilloché, framed in opaque white enamel on each side, hinged sterling back, dial signed Cartier, movement and case signed European Watch & Clock Co., Inc. • the second: the square case in 14k gold divided into quadrants with striated motif, hinged strut, movement and inside of case back signed Cortland Concord Watch Co., dial signed Cartier, case hand-stamped with Cartier reference numbers

Condition

The first: The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it could require service soon. The movement is further stamped with a JTC within a frame and numbered 20177. The inside of the case back is numbered 26. The dial has some spotting and discoloration, most noteably between 2 and 3 and 5 and 9 o'clock. The signature appears as though it could have been reprinted. The base is numbered 12026. The second: The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it may require service soon. The dial is aged and discolored, as visible in the photograph, particularly to the edges and between 6 and 9 o'clock. The 14k portion of the case is the striated front part, and the reverse is in gilt metal. The strut is numbered 4359 and what appears to read 6666.
