  • A DOUBLE DIALED WATCH FOR THE TURKISH MARKET, A VARI-COLOR GOLD QUARTER REPEATER AND TWO SILVER QUARTER REPEATERS CIRCA 1720-1790
  • Silver, yellow gold
  • diameters 44 mm, 45 mm, and 50 mm
• each: with bell repeat, and white enamel dials • the first: enamel dial with Turkish numerals, reverse dial with Arabic numerals, both dials signed, gilt-metal case and three quarter repeaters including: • the second: unsigned, vari-colored gold case chased with agricultural trophy • the third: with silver pair case, inner pierced and engraved with scrolls, outer repouseé with classical figures in a marine setting, movement signed • the fourth: silver case centered by a griffin flanked cartouche bordered by pierced and engraved foliate strapwork, movement signed 

Condition

The first: The balance does not oscillate, the movement does not function, and will need an overhaul. The front dial is chipped near the winding arbor and there are hairlines near 3 and 6 o'clock. The rear dial has one very faint hairline from the center arbor. The case is tarnished. This watch would have originally had an outer case. The second: The balance does oscillate when the watch is wound and the quarter repeat function does operate when activated, but the movement will need to be cleaned and overhauled. The dial has several hairlines, particularly to 5, 6 7 o'clock and the center arbor. There is a chip the edge beyond 7 o'clock. The case has some loss of detail and finish to the multi-colored gold decoration as a result of polishing. The third: The balance does oscillate when the watch is wound and the quarter repeat function does operate when activated, but the movement will need to be cleaned and overhauled. The dial has several hairlines, particularly to the left side of the dial and from the center arbor. There are light scratches to both the inner and outer cases. outer case rubbed, The fourth: The balance does oscillate when the watch is wound, but the quarter repeat function does not operate properly when activated, and the movement will need to be overhauled, lacking minute hand, the dial has numerous hairlines, particularly to the right half, The case, The vari-colored gold with cylinder escapment, the rest all verge movements, all pendant repeating
