Description

  • A GROUP OF THREE GOLD ENAMEL AND PEARL SET VERGE WATCHES CIRCA 1760-1790
  • Gold, enamel
  • diameters 43 mm, 51 mm and 39 mm
each: with signed dials and movements • the first: with a polychrome enamel scene depicting figures in a love garden, white enamel dial, Roman numerals • the second: with a polychrome enamel scene with a couple in 18th century dress in a love garden, with glazed outer case • the third: with an enamel scene of a lad and horse, paste-set bezel •

Condition

Berger: interesting maker from Sweden, the case with some splits, enamel is restored with a glazing that has now crazed, oxidation to the border on the back of the enamel panel, color of gold on front bezel slightly pinker than the reverse, although clearly were made together as the decoration matches, chips to winding hole, enamel repainted and restored to the interior. Desroches: enamel borders have had restoration, the overglaze has oxidized producing the slightly orange effect to the overall color, dial with a large scratch between 10 and 11. Duchene: enamel overall restored
