- AN AGATE, GOLD AND ENAMEL DESK TIMEPIECECIRCA 1925
- height 7.5 cm
• circular movement, 15 jewels • guilloché dial, Roman numerals to the matte chapter ring, openwork gold hands • gold bezel overlaid with black enamel, shaped square agate case, the corners enhanced by pyramid-form gold studs • dial signed, strut with hand-stamped Cartier reference numbers, inside of case numbered, movement signed European Watch & Clock Co., Inc. • original presentation box
Condition
The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it may require service soon. The dial is aged with some spotting throughout. There is some discoloration to the edge of the gold bezel, with restoration to the enamel between 3 and 4 o'clock and some damage to the gold at 8 o'clock. The agate is in overall good order with very slight chips just below the upper left corner and to the back of the upper left corner. The inside of the back, under dial and strut are numbered 1144, and the movement is numbered 41485. The outside of the back and the interior of the strut numbered 6138.
