Condition
The movement is running at the time of cataloguing and the chronograph is functioning, however it may require service soon. It is stamped PXP, indicating it was made for the American market. The dial has aged slightly with a light patina and appears to have been washed at some point. The blued steel chronograph hand is slightly bent. There is some loss to the hard enamel in the second 'I' of Philippe in the signature. The hallmark to the band at 9 o'clock is rubbed, however the hallmark on the back of the lower right lug is quite crisp. The case has some light surface scuffs throughout.
The strap of this watch contains endangered species; please see Important Notices for further information.

Catalogue Note
Production of Ref. 130 commenced in 1934 and continued for over 30 years. It was the first chronograph wristwatch bearing a reference number Patek Philippe created in series. The Ref. 130 had a retail price of $600 during the WWII and was available with a number of dial variations. The present lot features Breguet stylized numerals and a tachometer, a rare combination that is aesthetically pleasing and useful at the same time.
For a discussion of Ref. 130, see Reardon, J. Patek Philippe in America, p. 116. Further examples of Ref. 130 are illustrated in Huber, M. & Banbery, A., Patek Philippe, Vol. II, Second Edition, pp. 262-3.
