Catalogue Note

This model, Ref. 1491, was produced from 1940 until 1958. For a similar model, see Huber, M. & Banbery, A., Patek Philippe, Vol. II, Second Edition, p 177.

The Ref. 1491 was produced in two versions, first with a caliber 12-120 with subsidiary seconds as in the present lot, and then with a caliber 12 SC with center seconds. Both versions feature the iconic scroll lugs that exemplify Patek Philippe's bold design spirit in the 1940s.
