Description

  • AN 18K YELLOW GOLD RECTANGULAR WRISTWATCH 1953 REF 2554/1 MVT 975016 CASE 2615896
  • length 40 mm
• cal. 9-90 manual winding movement stamped twice with the seal of Geneva, 18 jewels • silvered dial, applied square and dagger indexes, subsidiary seconds • rectangular case, snap back • case, dial and movement signed • 18k yellow gold associated bracelet • Extract from the Archives confirming sale 17 July 1953

Condition

The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it may require service soon. The signature on the dial is weak and it is lacking a seconds hand. The case shows light to moderate scuffs throughout from wear. The bracelet is very interestingly stamped 2554, the reference number for the watch, though it is not stamped PPC. The Extract from the Archives states that the original case was replaced by the current case (2615896) during service at Patek Philippe in 1961.
