Catalogue Note

During the late 19th and early 20th century, not all Patek Philippe movements were created to the same standard. There were four distinct qualities of finish with Extra, First, Second, and Third quality ratings. For the most highly adjusted and finished movements, the word 'Extra' or 'Special', as in the present lot, is indicated on one of the movement bridges.
