The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it may require service soon. The dial has aged and shows spotting throughout. There are some surface scuffs to the bezel, though the enamel is intact. There is a crack in one panel of rock crystal, and the amethyst and remaining three panels of rock crystal are in good order. One of the small rose-cut diamonds in the setting around the crown is lacking. The Extract from the Archives is quite detailed, stating that it is ornamented with four engraved rock crystal bands, five lozenge shaped amethysts, platinum and jewelry.

The present example is a fascinating departure from the norm for Patek Philippe creations in the early part of the last century, both in its form and décor. Indeed, the overwhelming majority of pendant watches made by the firm are circular, with a small number of documented pieces in unusual shapes. The usage of hard stones as a decorative element here is also notable. While many pieces from this era feature enamel, the geometric, angular lines of the rock crystal and amethyst on the present example make this a stunning design.
