Description

  • AN UNUSUAL PLATINUM SAPPHIRE-SET WRISTWATCH CIRCA 1934 MVT 419967 CASE 262042
  • Platinum set w/sapphires
  • diameter 30 mm
• jeweled movement • silvered dial, baguette- and round-cut sapphire indexes • enlarged raised and beveled bezel, hidden lugs • case, dial and movement signed • platinum buckle

Condition

The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however it may require service soon. The dial is overall in good order, however it is lacking the baguette-cut sapphire index at 9 o'clock, and the 'n' of Vacheron is somewhat weak. The case shape is very well defined and crisp with some light surface wear. A very chic example. The strap of this watch contains endangered species; please see Important Notices for further information. A similar piece is also illustrated in Cologni, F., Secrets of Vacheron Constantin, p. 325.
