Catalogue Note

In addition to the rarity of its "Paul Newman" dial, the present watch is notable for its unusual signature featuring the Oyster on the third line after Rolex and Cosmograph. It is interesting to notice that the present example is completed by a presentation case and original guarantee. All these elements make the present watch one of the most exclusive examples of a stainless steel Daytona 'Paul Newman' with inverted lines ever to appear on the auction market. This is most certainly a unique opportunity to have the first fully complete version of Daytona 'Paul Newman' inverted lines. Following the enthusiasm of the 'Brown Dial' sold for a record price at Sotheby's, 14 November 2010, lot 104, Geneva, the present one will somehow be another great example recently rediscovered for all Rolex afficionados.
