Condition

The watch is numbered between the lugs 6265 and inside the case back 6263. The serial number between the lugs is 3952351. The movement is running and the chronograph is operating at the time of cataloguing, the 12-hour register is not resetting exactly. There are some small marks to the subsidiary dials, the luminous material has degraded and there is slight tarnishing to the subsidiary hands. The case and bracelet has been re-polished and there are some small indentations to the case back. Case back engraved 'FUERZA AEREA DEL PERU'.

Catalogue Note

The present watch is a very rare Daytona model made for the Peruvian Air Force Pilots in approximately 1973. It is recognisable with the inscription "Fuerza Aerea Del Peru"  engraved to the case back. The national air force was known in the late 1920s as the Cuerpo de Aviación del Perú (Peruvian Aviation Corps, abbreviated CAPand became the Fuerza Aérea del Perú (Air Force of Peru, abbreviated FAP) on July 18th 1950, during the presidency of Manuel A. Odría.
