- A GOLD AND ENAMEL PAIR CASED VERGE WATCH MADE FOR THE TURKISH MARKET WITH ASSOCIATED CHATELAINECIRCA 1803
- diameter 41.5 mm, length with chatelaine 190 mm
• gilt full plate verge movement signed Rundell & Bridge, London, pierced and engraved balance cock, diamond endstone • white enamel dial, Turkish numerals • the inner case with red translucent enamel over engine-turning painted with musical trophy, the band with floral decoration, the outer case with undulating rim with green and blue enamel floral decoration • inner case stamped with maker's mark IM, hallmarked London 1803 • associated gilt metal chatelaine with blue and white neo-classical decoration
Condition
The movement is running at the time of cataloguing however it would benefit from a service. Dial with hairline cracks. The case with chips to the enamel around the winding hole, there are large areas of enamel lacking to the band. Outer case lacking the glazed covers and some slight damage to the enamel.
