Movement running while cataloguing, all functions appear operational, however it may require a service in the near future for it to be well preserved. Dial in good condition. Case in good condition. Enamel portrait with some minor scuffs to the surface. Overall, this is a very interesting example made by Eterna during the Art Deco Period to pay tribute to one of the greatest music composer of all times.

The German composer and pianist Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn December 17^th, 1770. Since childhood, he demonstrated a strong interest in music. Later, he moved to Vienna, where he studied with one of the most prominent composers of the Classical period, and quickly gained a reputation as a virtuoso pianist. Considered to have been the most crucial figure in the transitional period between the Classical and Romantic eras in Western classical music, he remains one of the most famous and influential composers of all time.

The present lot, with its finely enameled portrait of Beethoven, was possibly produced to commemorate an important anniversary of the composer.
