Condition

The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. This painting has been quite recently restored and should likely be hung as is. The canvas has an older lining which is stabilizing the paint layer well. There are no retouches visible under ultraviolet light and while it is possible that there are retouches somewhere to the painting, it seems highly unlikely and none are identifiable. The only sign of age having any affect on the picture is the discoloration a one rose to the right of the lower butterfly.
