la ceinture ajourée sculptée de masques de satyres, enroulements, croisillons et quartefeuilles, reposant sur des pieds jarrets réunis par une entretoise en X ; dessus de marbre rouge des Flandres (rapporté) ; (transformations, l'arrière resculpté)
Condition
Illustration is quite accurate.
This table has been transformed into a four-size centre table during 19th century, and the back carved then. Possibly reduced in depth as well.
Few previous wooden blocks used to strengthen the structure and support the marble top have been removed, probably during the transformation.
It has been regilt ; small chips to the gilt wood in places.
Marble of later date.
Conservative estimates consistent with these alterations.
