Condition
Very good condition overall with minor surface dust in the crevisses and a few minor chips to the edges.
The bust is not completely stable and needs to be refixed to the base.
The base with one fine hairline crack across and a few chips to the edges.
Very decorative marble.

Le buste reproduit avec exactitude l'Antinoüs du Capitole dont la tête était, selon Lalande, plus belle que celle de l'Antinoüs du Belvédère. La statue du Capitole est mentionnnée pour la première fois en 1733 dans la collection du cardinal Albani.
