Description

  • platinum, sapphire, diamond, ring
Set in the center with a cushion-shaped diamond weighing approximately 2.60 carats, flanked and framed by triangular-shaped and calibré-cut sapphires, accented by single-cut diamonds weighing approximately .50 carat, size 6½.

Condition

The cushion-shaped diamond approximately H to J color, VS clarity. Set with 2 triangular-shaped and 20 calibré-cut sapphires of medium deep blue color and of good clarity; abrasions to the high relief points of most of the sapphires, and 92 single-cut diamonds approximately H-I color and SI clarity. The shank is out-of-round causing it to register as a 6 1/2 on a mandrel, but can accomodate a size 7 finger. Nicking to mounting commensurate with regular wear. Evidence of sizing. In fair to good condition overall.

Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
