- 18 karat gold, turquoise, diamond, necklace, earclips, brooch
Comprising a necklace set with oval and round turquoise cabochons, accented by round diamonds weighing approximately 7.00 carats, length 15 inches, signed Cartier, France, maker's mark, French assay marks; a pendant-brooch of similar design set with oval and round turquoise cabochons, accented by round diamonds weighing approximately 13.75 carats, signed Cartier, Paris, numbered 0276 and 5575, French assay marks; and earclips of similar design set with oval turquoise cabochons, accented by round diamonds weighing approximately 3.25 carats, signed Cartier.
Condition
The necklace set with 52 round diamonds, the brooch set with 98 round diamonds, and the earclips set with 46 round diamonds of approximately G to H color, VS clarity. Turquoise ranges from rich robin's egg blue to a paler more greenish blue to bluish green. A small number have some traces of matrix and some have discolored towards green. The pieces bear a nice heft and are very well made and articulated. One earclip needs to have the pressure tightened on the clipback. In very good condition. A necklace and pendant-brooch of similar design, modeled by the French actress Capucine, are illustrated on page 175 of Amazing Cartier: Jewelry Design since 1937.
