Description
- Tiffany & Co.
- platinum, emerald, diamond, ring
The sugarloaf cabochon emerald measuring approximately 12.78 by 11.06 by 7.62 mm., flanked by triangular-shaped and tapered baguette diamonds weighing approximately 1.55 carats, size 7½, signed Tiffany & Co. With signed box.
Condition
Very good condition with minimal wear to the mouting. The sugarloaf cabochon emerald, weighing approximately 8.50 carats, is a lively medium slightly bluish green. Lightly included with what appears to be concentrations of color in certain lights. However, under magnification, these "concentrations" are similar in appearance to the crystal structure irregularities found in some Muzo mine emeralds (see Photo Atlas of Inclusions in Gemstones, E.J. Gubelin and J.I. Koivula, page 252; 1986 edition). Some minute abrading to the crown, but generally high polish. Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 43333 stating that the emerald is of Colombian origin, clarity enhancement: insignificant. The 6 triangular-shaped and 2 tapered baguette diamonds are approximately G-H color, VS clarity.
