Description

  • platinum, gold, diamond, jadeite, necklace
Composed of carved jadeite segments of floral and foliate design, spaced by geometric links set with single-cut, baguette, and triangular-shaped diamonds weighing a total of approximately 6.80 carats, length 15½ inches.

Condition

The jade is a brighter, less grayish color of green, with pleasant color mottling and interesting carvings. Set with 342 single-cut, 12 baguette and 4 triangular-shaped diamonds approximately H-I color and VS-SI clarity. There are sharp edges near the top of the pendant plaque, suggesting that the piece may have been modified from the original or a small section lost at some point. Otherwise in good condition. Please note that the platinum and diamond elements of the necklace are circa 1935, but the gold links may have been later added or substituted.
