Description

  • gilt-bronze, glass
  • one: 168.5cm, 121.3cm; 2ft 3in., 3ft 11¾.; the other: 168cm, 125.8cm; 5ft 6¼, 4ft 1½
each with an anthemion cast corona with twelve scrolled candelarms interposed by cherubs with flaming torches crowning with a wreath and flanking a female term amongst clouds, with a pineapple finial, the whole hung with facetted beads and drops; formerly fitted for electricity

Condition

In overall good restored condition. Impressive large size. This is a matched pair as they are very similar but not identical. The drops hanging from the corona of both chandeliers are different. . Candlenozzles drilled for electricity. One candelarm and gilt-bronze pedestal on the ring off but present. Some drops off and some trumpets in the central section broken off in the past and resoldered. Gilding is dirty and would benefit from a light clean according to taste.The ring on one has been overcleaned.
