the top centred by a floral spray within specimen marbles inlaid in a tracery design, on three lion monopodia on a plinth centred by a pineapple finial
Condition
A most attractive piece in overall very good condition and can be placed immediately. There are later blocks inside the frieze to strengthen. some hairline splits in the veneer on the frieze. The stretcher is a little faded and would benefit from a repolish according to taste. Old minor marks chips to gilding which is nicely worn in places to the red bole. Lion monopodia are very nicely carved. There are three hairline cracks in the stretcher but these do not detract from the piece. Some very minor pitting to the top and to the micromosaic but these are hardly noticeable and good choice of marbles and attractive detail to micromosiac panel.
