Description
- Gilt-bronze
- each 37cm. high, 25.5cm. wide, 23.5cm. deep; 1ft.2¾in., 10in., 9¼in.
each with a seated figure on a rectangular base inlaid with scrolling foliage with female espagnolette mask at the angles on paw feet
Condition
A good pair of well cast sculptures. Tarnishing to gilt finish. Variations to this surface. Rubbing to extremeties. The plinth bases are very decorative and work well as supports. There are some losses to pewter inlay. There are some splits, losses and cracks to the ebony mouldings and veneers. Some mounts are loose. These mounts are tarnished as is the pewter inlay. One section of moulding is cut to accomodate the leg of one figure. These charming objects exhibit wear consistent with age.
