Description
- gilt-bronze, marble
- each 68cm. high, 30cm. wide; 2ft. 2¾in., 11¾in.
each in the form of an ovoid vase with spirally turned and reeded handles issuing three spirally turned candlearms with foliate cast drip-pans and nozzles centred by a foliate stem on cylindrical marble bases within a gilt-bronze berried laurel wreath on a rectangular base
Condition
In overall very good original condition and much more attractive than in the catalogue photograph. Colour slightly lighter overall and gilding more golden and more attractive than in the catalogue photograph. There is an acanthus scroll missing on the inside of the one on the left as visible from the catalogue photograph which can easily be recast. Both left candlearms are slightly bent slightly outwards but this is not too noticeable.Very attractive detail to casting. Evidence of chains which are now missing. Very minor chips to red marble socle of one.
