Condition

In overall very good conserved condition and can be placed immediately. Colours overall slightly darker and gilding much more golden and attractive than in the catalogue photograph. There are some minor restorations to the marble top together with very minor area of filler to the right side which have been well executed and is hardly noticeable due to the mottling of the marble. Some minor retouching in places to the painting and gilding and some very minor scattered chips to the decoration as visible from the catalogue photograph. There are hairline construction cracks at the joints which are commensurate with normal usage and age and can be left as they do not detract from the piece. The carving is most attractive. There is a very small hole in the central roundel on the stretcher where there was probably formerly an urn.
