with an oval drop-in 18th century needlework covered seat, finely worked in polychrome wools, in `petit point' , with flowering foliate trails, eminating from a corner cornucopia, the edge incorporating a butterfly, all on a brown ground, on shell carved cabriole legs with ball and claw feet

Condition

Generally in very good condition. Both colour and patina are very good. Minor characteristic losses and old marks which do not detract. Minor old worm damage which again does not really detract. The needlework has some minor losses to the browns, commensurate with dye. There are some repairs in areas. Overall the needlework is in good, stable and usable condition. It is an extremely nice stool and to be recommended
