oval, in Louis XVI taste, the lid inset with an oval enamel plaque painted, en grisaille to imitate a cameo, with cherubs enjoying a late summer's day, the border, sides and base with panels of translucent blue enamel over scale engine-turning alternating with chased three-colour gold trophies and flowers, the interior with a double-opening grille pierced and engraved with scrolling flowers, struck only with French eagle's head control marks

Some restoration to enamel on side panels; little scrape to enamel on back bottom border; movement not currently working; lacking key.
