the beetle enamelled in translucent blue set with rose diamonds on the wing covers, further rose diamonds to the black enamel thorax and emerald eyes, the underside realistically modelled, the wing covers opening to reveal the watch dial with blue Arabic numerals, lever escapement, stem winding crown, hung on a blue-enamelled fleur-de-lis brooch struck 14K, the watch struck: Goering Watch Co., Swiss, with French hibou import mark

Louis Goering founded a firm of watchmakers in La Chaux de Fonds in 1848. His widow and successors continued the business under various names and also registered in Vienna, in March 1909, as suppliers of watch cases.
