A pair of Italian carved giltwood stools, Roman, ensuite with the previous lot late 17th/early early 18th century

The colour of the gilding is slightly darker, more golden and more attractive than in catalogue photo. Re-gessoed and re-gilt. Evidence of old very minor worm which appears to be no longer active. The hairline construction cracks have been re-inforced on the reverse of the front carved panel. Joints sound and sturdy. There is a small printed inventory label inscribed with the number 11 on both. The baluster and turned stretcher is possibly a later addition. The stools are not carved on the backs but are yellow painted as they were always intended to be placed against the wall. In overall good conserved condition.
