Condition

The colour of the gilding is slightly darker, more golden and more attractive than in catalogue photograph. Re-gessoed and re-gilt. Evidence of old very minor worm which appears to be no longer active. The hairline construction cracks have been re-inforced on the reverse of the front carved panel. There is a small printed inventory label inscribed with the number 11 on both. Joints sound and sturdy. The baluster and turned stretcher is possibly a later addition. The stools are not carved on the backs but are yellow painted as they were always intended to be placed against the wall. In overall good conserved condition.
