  • lengths 19 1/4 to 11 3/8 in.
  • 49 to 29cm
all shaped oval with lobed ends, comprising:
a small platter with later arms under coronet, Léonard Mercier, Paris, 1729
a medium platter with accollé arms under coronet, Claude Laurent, Paris, 1744
a large platter with laurel-garlanded arms under coronet, maker's mark CG, Paris, 1743
and a plain large platter, Jacques Hanappier, Blois, 1775-77

Provenance

The later arms on the Mercier platter are those of du Breil, Seigneur de Rays, of Normandy.

Condition

1729 and 1744 platters with old knife marks, as noted re arms on first 1743 platter with some salt stains, traces of other arms on one side Blois platter surface buffed, engraving removed Otherwise good, work well as a nesting set
