all variously shaped oval with molded rims, comprising:
a small meat platter, engraved with arms under a coronet, maker's mark IL crowned (Helft 1242d), Avignon, c. 1740
a larger platter, engraved with arms, Jacques-Claude Pourcelle, Soissons (Reims), c. 1770
another large platter with unusual shaped border, Jean-Baptiste François Chéret, Paris, 1773
and a large oval dish, possibly Antoine-François Hanappier, Blois, c. 1775

Provenance

The arms on the Soissons platter are probably those of Philippe de Marigny, of Normandy; a matching smaller platter with the same arms is in the Wentworth Collection at the Metropolitan Museum, see Dennis No. 506, p. 320-321.

Condition

Avignon and Soissons platters good, Paris platter buffed but unusual shape, dish with restored surface, damage in center, possibly in a fire
