all shaped circular, comprising: one with entrelac border and arms in cartouche, Jean-Louis Morel, Paris, 1748
one with molded border, engraved with arms and supporters and a later coat of arms, probably Pierre Soulaine, Paris, 1755
one with molded border, engraved with arms and supporters, Honoré Burel, Aix, 1759
another similar, engraved with accollé arms, Jean-Louis Morel, Paris, 1760
one with entrelac border, maker's mark NC?, Paris, 1770
and one with waved border, maker's mark IG over F, possibly Caen

Provenance

The arms are those of Godar, of Tournai.

all with some scratches from use, some a little bright, otherwise good, the first of good weight

Catalogue Note

The pair to the Burel plate is in the Metropolitan, illustrated Dennis no. 383, p. 252, where the arms are identified as Gaspard IV de Guiedan, president of the Parliament of Provenence, quartering those of his wife Angélique de Simiane.  The pair to the 1755 plate is also in that museum, Dennis no. 314, p. 211 (given to Paul Soulaine).
