Catalogue Note

According to Gorham's records as reproduced by Larry Pristo Martelé 950-1000 Fine Gorham's Nouveau Silver, 2002, p. 322, Bread and Butter Plate set HZD was completed on 19 August 1916 with a net factory cost of $750.  The plates were had in 102.25 hours and chased for an additional 420 hours. Pristo notes that another set of twelve matching bread and butter plates were completed teh previous year on 24 November 1915.  Although both sets have are coded HZd the 1915 set has a slightly smaller weight (97.9oz).
