Catalogue Note
The design for this piece, dated 1935, is preserved in the Tiffany Archives. It also appears on a 1940 list in the Archives of "Articles of Silverware To be exhibited by Tiffany & Co. at their exhibit in the House of Jewels, New York World's Fair" The description is "simple, modern bowl with turned lines on body and foot", with a price of $20.00.
An example of this compote is in the collection of the Dallas Museum of Art.
