each piece painted with a puce flower spray within narrow puce and gilt patterned borders, and gilt with the monogram, 'CF', comprising: soup tureen cover, soup tureen stand, vegetable tureen and cover, sauce tureen, cover and attached stand, five canted rectangular platters in various sizes, two lozenge-shaped dishes, a circular dish, twenty-three dinner plates, seven soup plates and seven side plates. 51 pieces.

Provenance

From the Estate of Cole Porter, by descent to Jules Omar Cole and thence to the present owner.

Condition

All in good condition except: The cover of the soup tureen has had the knop restored back on and the stand of the soup tureen has been broken into two large pieces and riveted back together. The vegetable tureen cover has some extensive rubbing to the gilding on the knop. The sauce tureen cover has some rubbing to the gilt knop. The largest rectangular platter has two 1/2 in. chips under the rim. The middle sized rectangular platter has some fritting to the rim and a 1/2 in. chip. One of the smallest rectangular platter has a 1/8 in. rim chip. The circular dish has a 1/2 in. rim chip and two 1/2 in. hair crack to the rim. Of the 23 dinner plates: Eight plates have a star crack to the center and several small rim chips each. Four plate have several small rim chips each. One plate has rim chips and crack and a star crack to the center. One plate has been broken in half and restored back together. Six plates have several rim chips on each. One plate has two rim chips. One plate has a long crack extending from the rim to the center and small rim chips. ' One plate has a crack across the center and small rim chips. Two of the soup plates have several small rim chips on each. Two of the soup plates have a 1/2 in. chip to the rim edges on each. Two side plates have a small rim chip on each. One side plate has a star crack to the center. One side plate has two small rim chips.
