- Chippendale Chest: Height 33 1/2 in. by Width 40 1/2 in. by Depth 20 1/2 in.; Federal Chest: Height 34 in. by Width of top 42 in. by Depth of top 22 in.
A Chippendale Figured Mahogany Chest of Drawers, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Circa 1780 which appears to retain its original rare cast brass hardware; together with a Federal Figured Mahogany Chest of Drawers, New England, circa 1800. (2 pieces)
Condition
Chippendale chest: Re-finished, the top with extensive surface scratches; Appears to retain its original rare cast brass hardware; 1 inch by 1 inch patch to top drawer at proper upper right corner; same parth to second drawer to proper left upper corner; overall with some old marks and scratches.
Federal Chest: Brasses replaced; re-finished; drawer sides and bottoms in white pine; drawer fronts veneered on either Hickory or Ash boards; white pine back board possibly original to piece; overall scratches to top and sides.
