Condition
Overall in very good condition. It appears that this piece has been re-lacquered at some point in its history, with undercoats evident to the underside and very slight overpainting along the edges of the raised decoration to top side. With stress and age cracks to the underside of the table along each of the leg at the seams that join the legs to the body of the stool. With adjacent losses to the lacquer and lifting to the lacquer in these areas. With some minor shallow surface scratches, concentrated to the lower portion of the legs. With light rubbing to the gold elements of the top, as seen in the catalogue illustration. An extremely rare offering at auction from the famed artist’s own residence.
